AWAN-Afrika is a not-for-profit company that promotes women’s small, medium and large enterprises. The organization provides women owned agribusinesses with a platform that facilitates access to markets, trade information, blended and inclusive financing, innovative technology and opportunities to share what works.
We are looking for a Project Officer to provide overall leadership and technical guidance in the development, planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation of our strategic framework and projects in line with our 4 Pillars – Women Economic Inclusion, Market Linkages; Trade and Agri-Technology; our policies and guidelines.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate strategic planning, program development, review and evaluation processes in line with AWAN’s strategic Framework (the 4 Pillars)
- Provide leadership in Networking and building strategic alliances in line with organizational strategies and policies
- Coordinate and account for resource mobilization in the programme department in line with the AWAN fundraising strategy
- Financial management in adherence to program-specific procedures for requisition and reporting
- Supervise, motivate, appraise the line managed staff and build their capacity in line with the organizational strategy and policies
- Contribute to strategic decision making
- Identify program-related knowledge needs for AWAN and its members
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences from a recognized institution
At least 3-years relevant experience gained from a reputable organization or institution
Should have a good command of English and any other AU recognized language
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, co-ordination and communication skills
- Documentation and reporting skills with a keen eye to detail
- Self-driven & motivated with an ability to work under pressure
- High-level of integrity
- Excellent networking and prospecting skills
