"Technical Focus
The incumbent will contribute to the implementation of FAO’s Strategic Framework and the Gender Equality Policy which aims to achieve equality between women and men in sustainable agricultural production and rural development for the elimination of hunger and poverty. Specifically, the incumbent(s) will address aspects such as: Collection, analysis and use of gender-relevant sex-disaggregated data for better targeting and monitoring of FSN and rural poverty policies and programmes to monitor the gender gap in agriculture, food security and nutrition.
Tasks and responsibilities for level B and C consultants and PSAs
Undertake policy analysis and socio-economic research on effective ways to address gender inequalities and promote women’s empowerment in agriculture, food security and nutrition; Analyse survey data to investigate on the effects of male-outmigration on women’s work and empowerment in agriculture and household food security; Contribute to designing impact evaluation surveys, collecting data and analysing data on impacts of agricultural interventions women’s empowerment; Strengthen capacity of member countries’ to develop, analyse and use sex-disaggregated data in policy analysis and programme and project planning and evaluation.
Produce analytical papers, dissemination materials and implement learning events to enhance the skills of FAO staff and Member States; Collaborate and provide technical support to FAO departments, strategic programme teams, decentralized offices and relevant partners, as necessary, on issues related to sex disaggregated data; Perform any other related duties, as required."
