Banyan Global is the holder of largest gender indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, the Advancing the Agenda of Gender Equality (ADVANTAGE), which is designed to strengthen USAID's capacity to integrate gender equality and women's empowerment systematically across USAID programming, monitoring and evaluation efforts, and procurements.
Under the ADVANTAGE IDIQ, Banyan Global manages a task order on Gender Integration Technical Assistance (GITA), which provides on-demand, rapid response short-term technical assistance to USAID missions and bureaus in the design of strategies, projects and activities to reduce the gender and economic empowerment gaps that impede development outcomes.
Banyan Global is seeking a Chief of Party to manage task orders anticipated under the Advantage award, including under the GITA Task Order.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the completion of all USAID technical requirements, including program results and deliverables, in accordance with the approved program work plan.
- Translate program goals and objectives into implementable strategies and plans with all program/task order staff and partners.
- Build and maintain productive working relationships with USAID, project partners, and key stakeholders. Serve as the primary liaison among all project stakeholders.
- Respond to all donor reporting requirements, including quarterly and annual program reports, and other deliverables, as specified in the contract.
- Represent the program at meetings with donors and other key stakeholders.
- Manage program/task order operational, financial, and administrative planning and budgeting processes in partnership with Banyan Global financial management staff.
- Supervise and mentor program staff in line with program/task order terms of reference.
Qualifications
- Doctoral or master’s degree in a relevant field, including economics, development studies or a related field.
- A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in the international development field managing multi-million-dollar programs.
- USAID program management is strongly preferred.
- Must have at least 5 years of experience managing an international development team with at least 5 staff, with previous experience as a COP or DCOP (on a USAID program preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in gender integration and women’s economic empowerment, in particular in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Demonstrated representational skills in fostering relationships with partner governments, donors and national and international NGOs and partners.
- Experience managing required programmatic and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with using M&E as a program design tool.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent demonstrated interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in recruiting, developing, and managing staff and teams.
- Fluency in French is a plus.
