The Wilson Center is hosting a Seminar about women and post-conflict reconstruction.
SUMMARY: Women’s participation is key to peace: Peace processes that include women are more successful and sustainable, and societies that empower women are more peaceful than those that do not. But lack of access to women’s health services can keep women from fully participating in political, security, and military leadership positions. To realize the demographic peace dividend, young women and men in developing countries need the healthcare, education, and employment that will prepare them to build a more peaceful and productive society.
