The Land Policy Initiative (LPI) was established in 2006 as an initiative comprised of the African Union Commission (AUC), the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB). LPI has been engaged in mainstreaming land in the strategies and programmes of continental and regional institutions as part of the implementation of the AU declaration on land. Land governance is essential to enhance economic development, gender equality, social stability and sustainable natural resource use.
The UN is seeking a consultant to develop a harmonization framework of land policies for IGAD region and to produce an implementation plan. This position is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
