April 13, New York City:
This funder learning exchange brings together foundations prioritizing gender justice, the right to food, access to land, agroecology and promotion of women’s rights in the face of climate change. It will facilitate the sharing of strategies and identify ways to increase the quantity and quality of financial and other resources reaching women and their organizations across Africa.
To inform the discussion, Global Fund for Women will present the findings of its 2011-2014 initiative involving grants, research, and convenings with 22 groups in Burkina Faso, Kenya and Uganda. New Field Foundation will also present key learnings from funding more than 100 rural women’s groups in southern Senegal from 2006-2014. In addition, results will be shared of a recent consultation with rural women leaders on their views of effective ways to get more resources on the ground.
