Manage a small team of officials and 2 to 3 temporary staff.
Organise policy events including workshops and seminars.
Develop the biannual gender programme of activities, which includes assisting the Head of Unit with fundraising activities and maintaining relationships with donors including reporting thereafter.
Engage and work with other OECD Directorates on gender equality issues.
Lead the production of the Social Institutions and Gender Index including data collection, data validation, scoring of variables, design of the index, dissemination of data through publications and the website.
Oversee the analytical input into in-depth country studies based on the Social Institutions and Gender Index, including the preparation of background papers, development of conceptual and methodological frameworks and analysis of the results.
Undertake research and policy analysis on selected gender equity and development issues, with a particular focus on discriminatory social institutions.
Establish and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders for the in-depth country studies based on the Social Institutions and Gender Index.
Provide strategic direction for the in-depth country studies including project planning, fundraising and implementation.
Establish partnerships and co-ordinate regional activities including technical exchanges and policy dialogue workshops.
An advanced university degree in law, economics, social science or a related field, with a focus on gender analysis.
Three to seven years’ experience in applied research and analysis in the field of gender advocacy and analysis in developing countries, acquired in a university or research centre, a national administration or in an international organisation.
Proficiency in the use of standard software applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
Excellent communication skills; including the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in a compelling manner to both individuals and groups, including the ability to adjust presentations to different audiences.
Excellent knowledge of one of the two official languages of the Organisation (English and French), including the ability to draft clear, concise and high-quality documents in this language for both specialised and lay audiences. Good practical knowledge of the other language.
Knowledge of other languages (in particular Arabic or Spanish) would be an advantage.
Very strong analytical and drafting skills, the ability to meet deadlines and to produce concise, top-quality work at strategic and operational levels.
Proven ability to carry out empirical analysis to substantiate and support policy analysis.
Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relations in a multicultural environment.
Ability to supervise staff.
Very good organisational skills, including the ability to plan and implement independent research.
Demonstrated capacity for innovation, autonomy and self-motivation.
A broad knowledge of the current debates on inequality and development.
